Key features

  • One-Second Installation Softbox. Upgraded 20"x 20" pull soft box: to open, press the button and pull out the rod; to close, press the button and push the rod in. The 20" octagonal design features a silver reflective interior and a removable front diffuser, creating perfectly even, soft lighting. A 3-meter (9.8 ft) power cord provides extended mobility during use.
  • Honeycomb Grid. Featuring a honeycomb grid for precise beam control, this softbox lighting kit minimizes light spill and delivers clean backgrounds. The grid shapes light and shadow, sculpting strong facial contrast for striking portraits. Combined with 20" octagonal lighting soft boxes that focus light, it produces directional illumination that adds definition while maintaining softness — ideal for photo studio equipment.
  • Remote-controlled LED Bulbs. This photography kit is equipped with a 50W LED bulb that offer smooth, stepless 0%-100% dimming and 3000K-6000K color temperature adjustment, delivering vivid color and sharp detail. Enjoy complete wireless control from up to 15m with the remote: simply press and hold the +/- buttons for precise adjustment, enabling versatile lighting setups. (Requires 2 AAA batteries, not included.)
  • Versatile Lighting for Every Scene. Designed for the professional art of photography, this soft box light meets the diverse needs of photography lighting, live streaming, video fill light, etc. It is suitable for a wide range of scenarios, including product advertising, portrait photography, studio video recording, filming, podcast, online meetings, etc.

What this one is for

A softbox turns a small bright lamp into a large dull one, and large dull light is what makes a face read as a face. A kit like this covers portraits, product photography and interviews; put a third head on the background and the subject stops being stuck to the backdrop behind them.

Matching it to a photography backdrop stand

Choosing the size is arithmetic rather than taste. Measure the wall across, subtract roughly a foot at each end for the legs and the fittings, and you have the span the frame has to accommodate when it is fully open. Height comes next, and it is the figure that changes once a subject stands: a seated portrait is happy at seven feet, a standing one wants everything expanded so the top edge of a muslin, seamless white, black or green surface stays above the shot. Keep a step of space behind the subject rather than putting them directly against the surface. In a small room, buy a little extra width — that is where an additional panel, a light or a prop ends up living. As a general matter, one size up forgives more than one size down.

Putting it up

Setup, in order: extend each telescopic section, lock the adjustable collar, then square the base. The mounting fitting is standard, so heads and clamps from other stands assemble onto it without an adaptor, and it all happens quickly with two hands. Stability comes from the base rather than the column: spread the legs fully, position the feet out of the walkway, and it sits stable on a floor that is not quite flat. Anything heavy hanging on the system wants weight at the feet as well.

Hanging it and holding it steady

Clamp the corners first and even out the middle afterwards — the top edge is the part that shows. Hooks along the crossbar keep the hang even, a spring clamp secures anything that moves, and one spare clamp per kit saves needing an improvised fix on a tripod or a light tube.

Carrying it and keeping it

Folded, it is compact enough to transport as one piece: the carry bag in the package takes the whole collapsible set, so no extra sections travel loose. The quality worth paying for is boring: metal collars that still grip, a design with no part that only works while new. Aluminum keeps a pro kit portable, heavier metal makes it durable, and durability on gear like this is an argument about joints. We would rather sound dull than claim an excellent finish. Keep it dry and the care budget is a cloth. Grit in a joint wears a section faster than rain does; a rolled surface arrives without a wrinkle, a folded one arrives with a map of itself.
