Our Softbox Lighting Kit, 85W 20"x28" Softbox for Photography Light 1Pack is the piece we hand over when a room has to turn into a set in one go. At full extension the top of the column stands 31.5in, which keeps the hem off the floor in a small room.
The build includes a handheld remote and a carry bag. We would rather you bought the smaller frame and used it than the big one that stays in the bag.
Key features
- Upgraded 20"x28" Softbox. Equipped with a large rectangular soft box, this light kit delivers wider, softer coverage than standard square boxes—perfect for full-body portraits and product shots. Its high-reflective silver inner lining eliminates harsh shadows to create even illumination for professional photography lighting. Additionally, this box light features a 210° rotatable lamp holder, allowing you to adjust the angle precisely according to your needs.
- Adjustable & Stable Tripod. This sturdy studio light stand adjusts from 31.5"/80cm to 75"/191cm with knobs for fast locking. The 1/4" standard screw tip supports a wide range of photo studio equipment, expanding the versatility of your photography kit. The tripod features a stable three-leg construction with reinforced joints to ensure solid support during use. The included 3m cord and 2 velcro ties allow flexible, tidy placement.
- Multiple Scene Applications. Designed for the content creators, this soft box light adapts to diverse needs, bridging professional photography lighting to everyday use. It excels in scenarios ranging from advertising product shooting, portrait photography, podcasts, live streaming, online meetings, and video recording to filming, serving as your reliable softbox lighting partner.

Where it sits in the range
EMART softbox heads, continuous LED lamps and full two- and four-light kits with stands, grids and carry bags — the light that goes up next to a photography backdrop.
What this one is for
A softbox turns a small bright lamp into a large dull one, and large dull light is what makes a face read as a face. A kit like this covers portraits, product photography and interviews; put a third head on the background and the subject stops being stuck to the backdrop behind them.
Matching it to a photography backdrop stand
Work out the size from the room rather than from the catalogue. Measure the wall you shoot against, take a foot off each end for the legs, and what is left is the span a frame opens to and can honestly accommodate. Height is the figure people change their mind about later: seven feet suits a seated subject, while a standing full-length shot wants the frame fully expanded so the top edge of a seamless white, muslin, black or green surface stays out of shot. Space behind the subject matters as much as space across it — stood directly against the surface, anybody picks up its texture. In a small room, give yourself a little extra at the back so an additional panel or a prop can go in without everything having to move. As a general rule, choosing one size up costs less than choosing one size down.
Putting it up
Assembly is quick and standard. Pull each telescopic section up by hand, lock the adjustable collar, square the base. The mounting threads are the usual size for this kind of gear, so a fitting borrowed from another stand will do, and the whole setup takes one pair of hands. A wide base is what keeps the support system stable when somebody walks behind the subject. Position two legs under the load, keep the third foot clear of the walkway, and hang anything heavy low rather than at full height.
Clamping, hooks and the crossbar
Clamp the corners first and even out the middle afterwards — the top edge is the part that shows. Hooks along the crossbar keep the hang even, a spring clamp secures anything that moves, and one spare clamp per kit saves needing an improvised fix on a tripod or a light tube.
Carrying it and keeping it
It packs into the carry bag it arrives in — a portable, collapsible package small enough to live in a car boot between shoots, which is the only way gear gets used weekly. Aluminium alloy keeps the weight sensible; the metal that decides durability sits in the locks and the joints, not the finish. The design is pro in the only sense that matters — practicality over appearance — and the material trade is plain: aluminum travels, steel survives. Keep it dry and the care budget is a cloth. Grit in a joint wears a section faster than rain does; a rolled surface arrives without a wrinkle, a folded one arrives with a map of itself.
