We put our Photography Umbrella, 400W 5500K lighting kit for video, Studio 1Pack on the floor for crews who need the shot up before the light changes.
We build it in aluminium alloy because gear that lives in a car boot gets handled badly. You also get a portable format. Specifications here are read straight off our own listing — no rounding, no best case.
Key features
- 45W Full Spectrum Bulb. Each CFL bulb delivers 2500 lumen of bright, energy-efficient continuous output lighting. The 5500K daylight balance ensures pure white light that brings out true-to-life colors. Its flicker-free design provides smooth video lighting without annoying banding.
- Shoot Through Umbrella. The white umbrella works as a light diffuser to create flattering, soft lighting. It removes harsh shadows on your subject and background while smoothing skin tones for natural-looking portraits. The 33-inch diameter offers ample coverage, and the durable nylon stands up to frequent use.
- Sturdy Light Stand. These aluminum alloy tripods are lightweight and portable, extending from 33 to 83 inches. The attached e26/e27 lamp holders swivel 180° for precise studio lighting placement, and the standard 1/4 inch screws on the top fit most photography accessories.
- Versatile Umbrella Light. Designed for content creators, this camera umbrella kit delivers reliable photography lighting across video recording, portrait sessions, product shoots, advertising campaigns, podcasts, filming and live streaming.

Where it sits in the range
Shoot-through and reflective EMART umbrellas, translucent white and black-silver, sold as single heads and as full studio sets with the light stands photography needs.
Where it earns its place
Shooting through a white umbrella gives broad light that wraps a subject; bouncing out of a black-backed one is more directional and keeps spill off the background. Most crews carry both and decide in the room, which is why the kits are packed as sets rather than single pieces.
What size EMART backdrop stand this suits
Size is a room problem before it is a shopping problem. Take the wall you shoot against, measure across it and subtract a foot at each end for the legs — the rest is what the frame can accommodate once it is open. Then decide height, because that is the figure people change their mind about the moment the subject stands up: seven feet suits seated work, full-length needs the sections fully expanded so the top edge of a white, black, green or seamless muslin surface never appears. Leave space between the subject and the surface too; stood directly against it, a face picks up every mark behind it. A small room rewards a little extra span, which is where an additional panel or a prop goes. In general, choosing one size up is the cheaper mistake.
Setting it up
Setup is hands only. The sections are telescopic, so you assemble it by pulling up and locking rather than by counting parts, and the adjustable collars let you stop anywhere between the stops. Mounting uses the standard fitting for this type of gear, so it mates with what is already in your bag, and it goes up quickly enough to do alone. A wide base is what keeps the support system stable when somebody walks behind the subject. Position two legs under the load, keep the third foot clear of the walkway, and hang anything heavy low rather than at full height.
Clamping, hooks and the crossbar
Hang the surface a little narrower than the crossbar so it has something to pull against. A spring clamp secures each corner, hooks carry the middle, and that clamp will just as happily hold a light modifier or pin a cable to a tripod tube when the kit outgrows the room.
Bag, case and care
Transport is the test most of this kit fails. Folded it is compact, the carry bag swallows the collapsible frame and the small extra parts, and the whole package carries on one shoulder. Durability lives in the fittings. Aluminum alloy gives an enhanced strength for the weight, the material of the locking collars decides the rest, and the practicality of a professional design beats a powerful specification nobody uses. Quality here means the metal has not moved in a year. Care is minimal: wipe the sections, keep the clamps in the same bag, store it dry. Roll fabric rather than folding it and a wrinkle stops being something you plan around.
