We put our 10x10 FT Green Screen Backdrop Kit with Umbrella Lights for Studio on the floor for crews who need the shot up before the light changes. 10ft of height at the top of the travel gives you slack to raise the whole background once the subject sits down.

The frame is aluminium alloy and cotton, which is the difference between a stand that travels and one that bends. The build includes a heavy-duty build, a washable surface and a carry bag. Specifications here are read straight off our own listing — no rounding, no best case.

Key features

  • Upgraded Green Screen Backdrops. Crafted from premium cotton, this 10 x 15ft photo backdrop is fully machine washable for easy care. It sets up quickly and securely, designed for heavy-duty use. When used with included clamps, the backdrop stays firmly in place without slipping. Featuring a seamless woven surface and reinforced hemmed edges, it resists tearing for long-lasting performance.
  • Photography Umbrella with 50W Bulbs. 33inch flash umbrella effectively diffuses light, evenly spreading the beam while minimizing glare and hot spots. Ideal for portrait and product photography, compatible with the included green chromakey muslin backdrop. Features 5500K daylight fluorescent bulbs with flicker-free, silent operation and 8,000-hour lifespan. Bulb base compatible with E26/E27 sockets.
  • 10 x 10ft Backdrop Support System. This heavy duty backdrop stand supports canvas, muslin and paper, suitable for home and professional studio use. The background stand can extend to a height of 10 ft (3 m) and a width of 10 ft (3 m), providing ample space for various studio shoots. Built for durability with aluminum alloy, the stand is designed for stability with a tripod base that prevents shaking, even when fully extended.
  • Suitable for Various Scenarios. This professional photography lighting kit is ideal for various shooting scenarios including portrait photography, product shooting (advertising/industrial/children's products), video recording, live streaming, and photo reproduction.

What this one is for

Shooting through a white umbrella gives broad light that wraps a subject; bouncing out of a black-backed one is more directional and keeps spill off the background. Most crews carry both and decide in the room, which is why the kits are packed as sets rather than single pieces.

Matching it to a photography backdrop stand

Work out the size from the room rather than from the catalogue. Measure the wall you shoot against, take a foot off each end for the legs, and what is left is the span a frame opens to and can honestly accommodate. Height is the figure people change their mind about later: seven feet suits a seated subject, while a standing full-length shot wants the frame fully expanded so the top edge of a seamless white, muslin, black or green surface stays out of shot. Space behind the subject matters as much as space across it — stood directly against the surface, anybody picks up its texture. In a small room, give yourself a little extra at the back so an additional panel or a prop can go in without everything having to move. As a general rule, choosing one size up costs less than choosing one size down.

Putting it up

Setup, in order: extend each telescopic section, lock the adjustable collar, then square the base. The mounting fitting is standard, so heads and clamps from other stands assemble onto it without an adaptor, and it all happens quickly with two hands. Stability is a question of footprint. Open the legs to their stops, press the feet down, and position the base so the heaviest part of the load sits over it — weight in the right place does more for a support system than weight in total.

Hanging it and holding it steady

Clamp the corners first and even out the middle afterwards — the top edge is the part that shows. Hooks along the crossbar keep the hang even, a spring clamp secures anything that moves, and one spare clamp per kit saves needing an improvised fix on a tripod or a light tube.

Carrying it and keeping it

It packs into the carry bag it arrives in — a portable, collapsible package small enough to live in a car boot between shoots, which is the only way gear gets used weekly. Durability lives in the fittings. Aluminum alloy gives an enhanced strength for the weight, the material of the locking collars decides the rest, and the practicality of a professional design beats a powerful specification nobody uses. Quality here means the metal has not moved in a year. Care takes a minute: sections wiped, clamps back in the bag, the whole thing kept upright in a corner. A wrinkle in a surface is a storage problem rather than a fabric problem.
