We keep our Backdrop Stand Heavy Duty 10x10ft Adjustable Pipe and Drape Stand in the range because most shoots need one dependable frame, not five clever ones.
The frame is metal, which is the difference between a stand that travels and one that bends. You also get a heavy-duty build, telescopic sections and a portable format. If a size is missing from this page, it is because we do not make it, not because it sold out.
Key features
- Adjustable & Heavy Duty. This drape frame extends from 3.04 to 10 ft in height with width options of 5, 7.4, or 10 ft. Its metal construction and heavy-duty bases guarantee superior stability for large back drop cover, preventing sagging
- Easy Assemble & Secure Connection. Features a semi-rotating, four-section equal-diameter pipe that provides a firm lock, the spring safety mechanism on telescopic rods prevents accidents, and knob adjustment offers more stable support than lock-style
- Portable and Easy to Store. The stands are detachable, and the base folds flat. Store it in the included carrying case to save space. Perfect for photographers and event planners who need to transport equipment to different locations
- Wide Application. Perfect for photo shoot studios, weddings, parties, fiestas, birthday, baby shower, and outdoor events. Supports backdrops, balloon decoration, flower wall and displays for versatile use

Where it sits in the range
Every EMART set starts with the same question: what is holding the background up? These are our photography backdrop stands — single crossbar, double, triple, T-shape and full pipe and drape — sized by the width of background they carry.
Where it earns its place
This is a support system first and a photography accessory second. Hang a muslin, a white sweep, a black drape or a green chroma panel across the crossbar and the frame does not care which. What it cares about is the span, the working height and the weight at the legs — the three figures that decide whether a background stand is the right size for your room.
Matching it to a photography backdrop stand
Choosing the size is arithmetic rather than taste. Measure the wall across, subtract roughly a foot at each end for the legs and the fittings, and you have the span the frame has to accommodate when it is fully open. Height comes next, and it is the figure that changes once a subject stands: a seated portrait is happy at seven feet, a standing one wants everything expanded so the top edge of a muslin, seamless white, black or green surface stays above the shot. Keep a step of space behind the subject rather than putting them directly against the surface. In a small room, buy a little extra width — that is where an additional panel, a light or a prop ends up living. As a general matter, one size up forgives more than one size down.
Setting it up
It opens from folded in one pass, with no tools. Each telescopic section is adjustable along its length, mounting is the standard thread studio fittings use, and setup is quick enough that you assemble it after the subject has arrived rather than an hour before. The legs open wide, and that width is the stability — not the thickness of the tube. Position the base so nobody kicks a foot, and add weight at the feet whenever the load is heavy or people are moving across the room behind the frame.
Hanging it and holding it steady
Clamp the corners first and even out the middle afterwards — the top edge is the part that shows. Hooks along the crossbar keep the hang even, a spring clamp secures anything that moves, and one spare clamp per kit saves needing an improvised fix on a tripod or a light tube.
Bag, case and care
Folded, it is compact enough to transport as one piece: the carry bag in the package takes the whole collapsible set, so no extra sections travel loose. Material and durability are the same question here. Aluminum alloy is the light choice and steel the enhanced one, and the quality of a design shows in whether a section still locks after a year. Professional gear is rarely powerful; it is excellent at being predictable, which is practicality rather than polish. Care takes a minute: sections wiped, clamps back in the bag, the whole thing kept upright in a corner. A wrinkle in a surface is a storage problem rather than a fabric problem.
