We keep our 40" Overhead Camera Mount with Serrated Bite Magic Arm&1/4" Ball Head in the range because most shoots need one dependable frame, not five clever ones.
We build it in aluminium because gear that lives in a car boot gets handled badly. The build includes 360-degree rotation. If a size is missing from this page, it is because we do not make it, not because it sold out.

Where it sits in the range
EMART overhead camera rigs, magic arms, super clamps, suction mounts, ball heads, sandbags and the small metal that holds a photography backdrop stand together.
What this one is for
The small metal is what decides whether a photography backdrop stand behaves. Spring clamps at the corners, hooks spread along the bar, sandbags at the feet, the right fitting between two threads — buy the frame without them and you arrive on location unable to hang anything.
Matching it to a photography backdrop stand
Size is a room problem before it is a shopping problem. Take the wall you shoot against, measure across it and subtract a foot at each end for the legs — the rest is what the frame can accommodate once it is open. Then decide height, because that is the figure people change their mind about the moment the subject stands up: seven feet suits seated work, full-length needs the sections fully expanded so the top edge of a white, black, green or seamless muslin surface never appears. Leave space between the subject and the surface too; stood directly against it, a face picks up every mark behind it. A small room rewards a little extra span, which is where an additional panel or a prop goes. In general, choosing one size up is the cheaper mistake.
Putting it up
Setup, in order: extend each telescopic section, lock the adjustable collar, then square the base. The mounting fitting is standard, so heads and clamps from other stands assemble onto it without an adaptor, and it all happens quickly with two hands. A wide base is what keeps the support system stable when somebody walks behind the subject. Position two legs under the load, keep the third foot clear of the walkway, and hang anything heavy low rather than at full height.
Clamping, hooks and the crossbar
Clamp the corners first and even out the middle afterwards — the top edge is the part that shows. Hooks along the crossbar keep the hang even, a spring clamp secures anything that moves, and one spare clamp per kit saves needing an improvised fix on a tripod or a light tube.
Carrying it and keeping it
Transport is the test most of this kit fails. Folded it is compact, the carry bag swallows the collapsible frame and the small extra parts, and the whole package carries on one shoulder. Durability lives in the fittings. Aluminum alloy gives an enhanced strength for the weight, the material of the locking collars decides the rest, and the practicality of a professional design beats a powerful specification nobody uses. Quality here means the metal has not moved in a year. Keep it dry and the care budget is a cloth. Grit in a joint wears a section faster than rain does; a rolled surface arrives without a wrinkle, a folded one arrives with a map of itself.
