We keep our Backdrop Stand, 10x7ft Background Stand with Heavy Duty Flat Base in the range because most shoots need one dependable frame, not five clever ones.

The frame is aluminium alloy and metal, which is the difference between a stand that travels and one that bends. You also get a heavy-duty build, a collapsible frame and a retractable crossbar. We keep one listing per size so you are never guessing which box arrives.

Key features

  • Reinforced Connecting Rod. Features added reinforced connecting bars between vertical poles and the base plate, significantly improving structural rigidity compared to standard flat-base stands. That ensures the photo backdrop stand's superior stability even in windy conditions. The maximum load capacity is 11lbs / 5kg.
  • Heavy duty Metal Base. Made of high-quality metal, with a large contact area to ensure the stability of the support.Compared to the triangular support,it saves more space and is collapsible. • Lockable Retractable Crossbar. The background stand's width can be extended from 63 inch/5.2 ft to 120 inch/10 ft,allowing for flexible adaptation to the size requirements of various backdrop screens. The quick locking design makes it easy to adjust according to different event needs.
  • Durable Light Stand. The sturdy vertical pole is made of high-grade aluminum alloy, ensuring durability and light weight. The light stand can be easily adjusted from 30 inch/2.5 ft to 84 inch/7 ft using a knob. Can be used for photo stand, display and festival decoration.

Where it sits in the range

Every EMART set starts with the same question: what is holding the background up? These are our photography backdrop stands — single crossbar, double, triple, T-shape and full pipe and drape — sized by the width of background they carry.

Where it earns its place

This is a support system first and a photography accessory second. Hang a muslin, a white sweep, a black drape or a green chroma panel across the crossbar and the frame does not care which. What it cares about is the span, the working height and the weight at the legs — the three figures that decide whether a background stand is the right size for your room.

Sizing it against your photography backdrop stand

Work out the size from the room rather than from the catalogue. Measure the wall you shoot against, take a foot off each end for the legs, and what is left is the span a frame opens to and can honestly accommodate. Height is the figure people change their mind about later: seven feet suits a seated subject, while a standing full-length shot wants the frame fully expanded so the top edge of a seamless white, muslin, black or green surface stays out of shot. Space behind the subject matters as much as space across it — stood directly against the surface, anybody picks up its texture. In a small room, give yourself a little extra at the back so an additional panel or a prop can go in without everything having to move. As a general rule, choosing one size up costs less than choosing one size down.

Setting it up

It opens from folded in one pass, with no tools. Each telescopic section is adjustable along its length, mounting is the standard thread studio fittings use, and setup is quick enough that you assemble it after the subject has arrived rather than an hour before. A wide base is what keeps the support system stable when somebody walks behind the subject. Position two legs under the load, keep the third foot clear of the walkway, and hang anything heavy low rather than at full height.

Clamps, hooks and the top edge

The crossbar carries the hang, the hooks spread it and a spring clamp secures the corners. Keep two spare clamps in the kit: one ends up on a light, one on a tripod tube, and neither is worth needing and not having.

Bag, case and care

Transport is the test most of this kit fails. Folded it is compact, the carry bag swallows the collapsible frame and the small extra parts, and the whole package carries on one shoulder. Aluminium alloy keeps the weight sensible; the metal that decides durability sits in the locks and the joints, not the finish. The design is pro in the only sense that matters — practicality over appearance — and the material trade is plain: aluminum travels, steel survives. Care is minimal: wipe the sections, keep the clamps in the same bag, store it dry. Roll fabric rather than folding it and a wrinkle stops being something you plan around.
