This is our answer for the setup that has to go up, hold still and come down the same evening. At full extension the top of the column stands 7ft, which keeps the hem off the floor in a small room.
The frame is aluminium alloy, which is the difference between a stand that travels and one that bends. You also get a retractable crossbar, a portable format and a carry bag. Specifications here are read straight off our own listing — no rounding, no best case.
Key features
- Retractable Crossbar. The retractable design makes the crossbar more flexible in use. Users can adjust to the appropriate width as required to adapt to different sizes of background backdrop.
- Sturdy Tripod Backdrop Stand. With adjustable height (2.6ft/0.8m–7.0ft/2.1m) , the aluminum alloy backdrop stand is durable, and the design of the tripod base ensures it won’t shake when fully extended to its maximum size.
- Better Effect with Accessories. The clamp made of strong and rugged type of plastic, matches with clips enable to clamp anything onto the stand tightly and present a better shooting effect. And sandbags can make the back drop stand more stable after loading heavy objects.
- Portable and Compact. The stand kit is very lightweight and portable after being put into the carry bag, and will not take up too much space. It can be conveniently stored in the bedroom, living room and corner.
- Multifunctional Application. This backdrop stand kit is suitable for newborn photography, baby photo shoot, professional photo studio shooting, product display background, DIY photo booth, pet pictures, shooting video or home/wedding/parties decoration. Note: Due to gravity, the crossbar will bend slightly, It is not suggest to hang anything too heavy and kindly please use sandbags to add weight for keeping stable in windy conditions.

Where it sits in the range
Every EMART set starts with the same question: what is holding the background up? These are our photography backdrop stands — single crossbar, double, triple, T-shape and full pipe and drape — sized by the width of background they carry.
The job it does
This is a support system first and a photography accessory second. Hang a muslin, a white sweep, a black drape or a green chroma panel across the crossbar and the frame does not care which. What it cares about is the span, the working height and the weight at the legs — the three figures that decide whether a background stand is the right size for your room.
Sizing it against your photography backdrop stand
Size is a room problem before it is a shopping problem. Take the wall you shoot against, measure across it and subtract a foot at each end for the legs — the rest is what the frame can accommodate once it is open. Then decide height, because that is the figure people change their mind about the moment the subject stands up: seven feet suits seated work, full-length needs the sections fully expanded so the top edge of a white, black, green or seamless muslin surface never appears. Leave space between the subject and the surface too; stood directly against it, a face picks up every mark behind it. A small room rewards a little extra span, which is where an additional panel or a prop goes. In general, choosing one size up is the cheaper mistake.
Getting it standing
Setup is hands only. The sections are telescopic, so you assemble it by pulling up and locking rather than by counting parts, and the adjustable collars let you stop anywhere between the stops. Mounting uses the standard fitting for this type of gear, so it mates with what is already in your bag, and it goes up quickly enough to do alone. A wide base is what keeps the support system stable when somebody walks behind the subject. Position two legs under the load, keep the third foot clear of the walkway, and hang anything heavy low rather than at full height.
Hanging it and holding it steady
A spring clamp at each corner secures the top edge and hooks spread the load along the crossbar, so the surface hangs straight instead of scalloping between two points. The same clamp keeps a light cable or a tripod leg out of frame when the kit gets crowded, without needing a second pair of hands.
Travel, bag and care
It packs into the carry bag it arrives in — a portable, collapsible package small enough to live in a car boot between shoots, which is the only way gear gets used weekly. Material and durability are the same question here. Aluminum alloy is the light choice and steel the enhanced one, and the quality of a design shows in whether a section still locks after a year. Professional gear is rarely powerful; it is excellent at being predictable, which is practicality rather than polish. Keep it dry and the care budget is a cloth. Grit in a joint wears a section faster than rain does; a rolled surface arrives without a wrinkle, a folded one arrives with a map of itself.
