We designed this one around the part of the job nobody photographs: the half hour before the first frame.
The build runs to aluminium alloy and cotton, which keeps the weight sensible without giving up on the joints. It arrives with a heavy-duty build, a collapsible frame, a retractable crossbar and a portable format. If a size is missing from this page, it is because we do not make it, not because it sold out.
Key features
- 1 x Retractable Photography Backdrop Stand: Made of aluminum alloy tripod construction for stable and durable. Professional backdrop stand, making it strong for heavy duty work. Adjustable from 2.9 ft (89 cm) to 8.5 ft (260 cm)
- 2 x Crossbar: The crossbars can be used alone or in combination. A single crossbar can hold the collapsible disc lighting reflector, 2-in-1 collapsible background panel, etc
- 4 x Spring Clamp: Movable teeth help you to clip the backdrop in any direction. Strong spring and the rough surface enable itself to clamp anything onto the stand tightly. Even use the clamps for a long time, they will not break down
- This backdrop support system is very easy to assemble and disassemble. So it doesn't take up a lot of room to store or to transport. The three pieces are lightweight, portable and serves a variety of purpose intended for
- Widely Applied: This backdrop stand can be hung with canvas, muslin, cotton, paper and PVC background backdrop paper. Applied to portrait, product advertising shooting, furniture appliance shooting, baby shower, etc

Where it sits in the range
Every EMART set starts with the same question: what is holding the background up? These are our photography backdrop stands — single crossbar, double, triple, T-shape and full pipe and drape — sized by the width of background they carry.
What this one is for
This is a support system first and a photography accessory second. Hang a muslin, a white sweep, a black drape or a green chroma panel across the crossbar and the frame does not care which. What it cares about is the span, the working height and the weight at the legs — the three figures that decide whether a background stand is the right size for your room.
Matching it to a photography backdrop stand
Work out the size from the room rather than from the catalogue. Measure the wall you shoot against, take a foot off each end for the legs, and what is left is the span a frame opens to and can honestly accommodate. Height is the figure people change their mind about later: seven feet suits a seated subject, while a standing full-length shot wants the frame fully expanded so the top edge of a seamless white, muslin, black or green surface stays out of shot. Space behind the subject matters as much as space across it — stood directly against the surface, anybody picks up its texture. In a small room, give yourself a little extra at the back so an additional panel or a prop can go in without everything having to move. As a general rule, choosing one size up costs less than choosing one size down.
Putting it up
Assembly is quick and standard. Pull each telescopic section up by hand, lock the adjustable collar, square the base. The mounting threads are the usual size for this kind of gear, so a fitting borrowed from another stand will do, and the whole setup takes one pair of hands. The legs open wide, and that width is the stability — not the thickness of the tube. Position the base so nobody kicks a foot, and add weight at the feet whenever the load is heavy or people are moving across the room behind the frame.
Clamps, hooks and the top edge
A spring clamp at each corner secures the top edge and hooks spread the load along the crossbar, so the surface hangs straight instead of scalloping between two points. The same clamp keeps a light cable or a tripod leg out of frame when the kit gets crowded, without needing a second pair of hands.
Carrying it and keeping it
It packs into the carry bag it arrives in — a portable, collapsible package small enough to live in a car boot between shoots, which is the only way gear gets used weekly. Durability lives in the fittings. Aluminum alloy gives an enhanced strength for the weight, the material of the locking collars decides the rest, and the practicality of a professional design beats a powerful specification nobody uses. Quality here means the metal has not moved in a year. Care is minimal: wipe the sections, keep the clamps in the same bag, store it dry. Roll fabric rather than folding it and a wrinkle stops being something you plan around.
